Parution d’un article dans la revue Études Photographiques – English below

Le dernier numéro de la revue éditée par la Société française de photographie vient de paraître. Pour le dossier « L’art en contextes », j’ai rédigé un article portant sur l’importance des archives dans l’étude du travail de l’artiste américain Robert Mapplethorpe. Le texte revient sur le traitement d’un fonds archivistique permettant, depuis 2011, non seulement de reconsidérer son œuvre, mais également de mieux situer sa démarche dans l’histoire de la photographie.

The latest issue of the peer-reviewed journal published by the Société française de photographie has been released. For its section dedicated to « art in contexts », I wrote a paper on the relevance of the archival documentation in the study of Robert Mapplethorpe‘s work. The article addresses the study of an archive allowing not only to reconsider his oeuvre but also to better situate his approach within the history of photography.
